October 25 Update

Posted Sunday, October 25

Unfortunately we didn't have the opportunity to start our hockey season as planned due to the Zone 5 going back into the Orange Phase the day before tryouts were supposed to begin. Here are some important updates for you to know.

Summary

Before proceeding, we would highly recommend that you read our Refund Policy page.

  1. For U11 to U18, the first "Temporary Stoppage in play" refund period started on October 17.
  2. For U7 and U9, the first "Temporary Stoppage in play" refund period started this Saturday (October 24).
  3. If play resumes in November, a minimum payment of 65% of the registration fee will be required before stepping on the ice.
  4. If play resumes in December, registration fee will need to be paid in full before stepping on the ice.

Common Questions

When do the refund periods end?
  • U11 to U18: the first two-week refund period period started October 17 and ends Friday, October 30.
  • U7 and U9: the first two-week refund period period started October 24 and ends Friday, November 6.

After each period ends the clock starts ticking for another two-week period if play hasn't resumed.

When will the refund cheques be issued?

Once the refund period ends will be adding a refund to your registration. However, will not be issuing refund cheques right away (as the refund policy clearly states), especially if it looks likely that we will be in the Orange Phase for another two weeks. As processing refunds are time consuming, we want to minimize the amount of cheques that we need to write as much as possible.

Please note that if you have paid less than 65% of your registration, no refunds will not be issued until your registration is paid in full.

I am eligible for a full refund until what date?

You will be eligible for a full refund until the first schedule event (excluding tryouts) for your child's division.

If you are uncertain if you want to keep your child in minor hockey we would prefer that you contact us and cancel your registration as soon as possible as this greatly affects our preparations and ice schedule planning.

When is hockey starting?

As soon as Zone 5 is back in the Yellow Phase.

How do I make additional payments on my registration?

Visit our Payment Options page for instructions on how to pay by e-transfer, credit card or by cheques.
