Rules

Admission Fees

  • Adult: $10 for the weekend. $5 for the day.

  • Children 5 years and older. $5 for the weekend. $3 for the day.

  • Children 5 and under: Free.

  • Admission fees for players and coaches are free.

General rules

  • No protests will be allowed.

  • If it is found that there is a deliberate misrepresentation, either in the entry or in the list, the team will be immediately disqualified from the tournament.

  • It is understood that the tournament organizers are not responsible for any injuries, theft, loss of equipment or other damages experienced by tournament participants.

  • Any player found guilty of drinking alcohol, using drugs or offensive language at the arena could result in a suspension by the tournament committee.

  • The official Hockey Canada Registry list must be carried and available for presentation to the tournament committee at any time.

  • Each team is guaranteed 3 games each.

  • Each team must be ready 10 minutes before their scheduled game time.

  • Teams will be asked to leave the locker room no later than 30 minutes after the end of their match.

  • Players should not use the Committee office except for informational purposes.

  • Any concerns should come from your manager or coach. Please let your parents know. 

  • If a team, or both teams playing together at the same time, does not show up for its scheduled game, for any reason (including snowstorms), the game will not be postponed.

 

M7 - Initiation (Half Ice)

 

  • Each part will consist of a 2-minute warm-up and 2 x 20-minute downtime periods.

  • The buzzer will ring every 2 minutes for a line change. Once the bell rings, the line-changing players must leave the puck and go to the bench and the other 5 players must go on the ice.

  • There will only be one face-off at the start of each period.

  • After a goal, play will resume. The referee will throw the puck to an unoccupied corner of the ice.

  • There will be 2 games at the same time on the ice surface.

  • Introductory size hockey nets will be used.

  • The medals will be given to the coach to give to the player. 

 

 

 

 

 

U9 Tier 1 - Novice (Full Ice)

  • Each part will consist of a 3-minute warm-up and 2 x 24-minute downtime periods.

  • The buzzer will ring every 2 minutes for a line change. Once the bell rings, the line-changing players must leave the puck and go to the bench and the other 5 players must go on the ice.

  • If there is a penalty, the coach sends another player to the ice and the game continues 5-on-5. 

  • There will be a puck drop for each stop, except for the line change.

  • After each goal, there will be a face-off at center of the ice.

  • Offside and icing will be called by the referee.

  • Regular black washers and regular-sized fillets will be used.

  • The medals will be given to the coach to give to the player. 

 

U9 Tier 2 - Novice (Full Ice)

 

 

  • Each part will consist of a 3-minute warm-up and 2 x 24-minute downtime periods.

  • There will be a puck drop for each stop, except for the line change.

  • If there is a penalty, the coach sends another player on the ice and the game continues 5-on-5. 

  • After each goal, there will be a face-off at center of the ice.

Ice Schedule

  • For the U7s, the ice surface will be done after two games. 

  • For the U9s, the ice surface will be done after each game. 

  • In case of lack of time (i.e. late game, etc.), the tournament committee reserves the right to change the ice schedule for the Zamboni.
